Numerical Analysis of Heat Transfer within a Rotary Multi-Vane Expander

In this paper, the results of numerical investigations on heat transfer in a multi-vane expander (MVE) are reported. MVEs very interesting for various technological applications because their advantages (such as, example, low gas flow capacity and expansion ratio). According to literature study, exchange mechanisms occurring these machines have not yet undergone in-depth analysis. As result, there been few experimental or modeling connected unquestionably significant processes from both scientific practical perspective. Despite fact that several analytical models developed phenomena, is no model dedicated an MVE. This was by authors presented paper together with results. Numerical simulations were executed ANSYS CFX focused defining coefficients under circumstances. The showed inside and, moreover, it discovered that, gap between vane cylinder, changes fluid’s velocity profile.
